Global Warming is Chilling
Bryan brought this documentary to my attention and the trailer blew me away. I got chills and wanted to weep because it moved me so much I was overwhelmed. They would have been tears of despair because I still don't think people 'get' it. The Earth is not here for our joyride and we can't be the jackasses in this relationship with all take and no give. But at the same time I wanted to leap in the air and cry tears of joy because this documentary is a wake-up call. Even if the masses don't go see it hopefully the publicity will still ring in their ears, and they will think twice about what kind of car to buy, walking the two blocks to the post office instead of driving, or putting on a sweater instead of cranking the heat. I literally wanted to vomit when I saw a commercial for a rental car company that WILL RENT OUT HUMMERS. Does someone really need to be a badass on vacation and bust through 10 miles a gallon on their way to the Grand Canyon? C'mon people!
So I post this to spread the word, and I encourage you to do the same. We hardly ever see films in the theater anymore because it's so freaking expensive, and nothing has come out lately that We Had To See. But now. This is on our calendars for opening night. I will gladly give them $10 a ticket (and I won't even show them my old NIU student card for the discount!) because I want this film to generate money. I want the film makers to know it matters and this can't be ignored, and that I cared enough to put my butt in the seat. Anyone want to go with? We should carpool.
