Oh hai
I'm alive!
Our Wi-Fi got all jacked and I've been without internet for FAR TOO LONG. I could always go to the coffee shop on the corner, but with a baby who may or may not be fussy, it isn't always a safe bet. But here I am with the family and The Boy is being an angel.
Typety-type-type-type
Anyway! Let's be random and catch you all up on Those Crazy Campens:
Theo is eight weeks old today. EIGHT! And he weighs 14 lbs 11 oz. 97th percentile for full-term babies. Yes, I have arm muscles like GI Jane. Also, his two month appointment (READ: With. Vaccinations. OMG have a bottle of wine at-the-ready for me when we're done!) is Monday. He's getting so big!
He has a clogged tear duct and has to have goo in his eye four times a day. Otherwise, no biggie.
My first official day back at work will be May 12th. I will be going back four days a week, usually Tuesday through Friday. I'm actually pretty okay with it. It will feel good getting 'dressed' and bringing in some money again, since I haven't worked since January 31st. Plus, my boss wanted me back so badly I get a raise and a one-time coming back bonus (nothing too exciting, but better than nothing). So, there's that. See how I'm staying positive?
Theo is getting baptised on Mother's Day. This means we need to kick his nursery into high gear since people will be coming over. Auntie Kristin painted it last weekend and we have the furniture in there BUT there is also a pile of random crap that we don't know what to do with in the middle of the room. You know, like old paperwork and stuff that is in the 'do we save it or get rid of it but if we get rid of it will we need it later' category. Then just hang a few things and boom. Theo's room will be done a mere two months after his birth. But! If you think about it, he came early, so the first month doesn't really count. Will post pics of the before, during and after phases once it's all done. I know. You all can't wait.
I didn't really crave sweets when I was pregnant, but now that I'm nursing I have a really bad cake/pie/cookie habit. I could eat a whole cake or pie every two days if you let me. Right now? I want chocolate cake.
I've been toying with the idea of attempting to do some freelance writing to supplement our income. So that's been rolling around in my mind. We'll see if anything comes of it.
Speaking of money, all the doctor's bills have arrived and we owe a total of around $5,000. Hel-lo payment plans! When I feel bad, I just watch a clip of Sicko and feel better.
And that's all I have for you now. I will post more pictures as soon as I can but in the meantime, go to Bryan's Flickr and see the latest short clip of me and the baby when we were out to breakfast early this week. All I can say is: love. handles.
$5,000? Oy.
Glad to hear all is well with you!

holy cow, 8 weeks?!? Did he age like 4 weeks in the time since you last posted? Geez.
Also- the fact that you're almost done with his nursery is impressive, given the fact that you were bedridden for so long and then he came early. So count me impressed!

Must be something about baby boys because I have become a total sweet-craver and I have NEVER been one before. In fact, I almost panicked the other night when I finished a box of Thin Mints, until I realized we had another box. Whew.
Michael is 8 weeks tomorrow, but hasn't hit 8 pounds yet. Amazing the difference with four more weeks of gestation, huh?
Good luck with the baptism, and with finding freelance work. That would be awesome. If I had a surplus of money I would definitely pay you to write stuff for me!

My son had a clogged tear duct as a newborn and you know what fixed it? Breast milk. Not kidding. A nurse recommended I do that (express a little right into his eye, or pump it and drip, drip), and it worked in 48 hours. Oh the wonder!
I can't believe he's eight weeks already.

Ummm. He is so damn cute..all huddled up in a ball on his mamas chest. Such a little butterball! I can't wait to see the room with all the furniture in it...and the art on the walls!

I'm glad to hear all is well. My my, he's growing so fast! I'm glad to hear you say that you're ready to go back to work. I pray that I feel that way when the time comes. Right now I'm praying that by some miracle...I won't have to.

Welcome back!
I've heard about breast milk fixing a clogged tear duct too.
Good luck back to work! Good for you for being OK with it. I am still not looking forward to it.
