Father time
He'll be six weeks tomorrow. SIX. WEEKS. You know what that means?
We've survived the hardest part!
Man oh man have I been looking forward to the six week benchmark for a while now. I know I shouldn't put all my hopes on it, as he was a preemie and may be off a little developmentally, but c'mon. I need SOMEthing to focus on. Smiling is just around the corner! Then cooing! The giggles! Eye contact! Engaging with toys! Can you even stand it? I know I can't.
Plus now I think my body is slightly adjusting to Hardly Any Sleep. That's not to say I'm not still totally exhausted, and some days are waaay better than others, but I don't wake up wanting to burst into tears on a near-constant basis. We're starting to get into a groove. And for that I am oh-so thankful.
This has been a lot rougher than I anticipated, and I've wondered if I could continue on more times than I care to count. But stopping to realize that we've been at this for six whole weeks without any major traumas is encouraging. Theo is fat and overall a happy boy. Couldn't ask for more than that.
Well, maybe a well-timed smile or giggle. But I'm not picky.
yay! Welcome to the first of many milestones :) :) Congrats on surviving this far, lol
